1. Three armed robberies were reported over the course of an hour yesterday morning in Lakeview. No arrests have been made in the incidents, two of which occurred on West Wellington. The third was reported in the 3500 block of North Broadway. (CWB)
2. Charges have been filed in a Thanksgiving Day shooting inside a Wrigleyville parking garage. Rigoberto Toscano, who is on parole for other aggravated discharge of a handgun charges, will be held without bail while his parole status is reviewed by the state. (CWB)
3. Cook County has reached another “grim milestone” in the COVID-19 pandemic, surpassing 12,000 deaths due to COVID-19 in the region. Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle is urging vaccination to slow the spread of the virus. (Patch)
4. Lakeview’s Get in the Kitchen has launched a new social club for members to learn about wine and cooking while meeting new people in the neighborhood. Meet-ups will begin in January. (Block Club)
5. The Jussie Smollett trial will begin today, nearly three years after law enforcement officials said the actor staged an attack against himself in Chicago. He has pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct charges. (AP)
