1. Chicago Reader employees rallied in Lakeview Thursday in a “last ditch effort” to save the newspaper. Employees say they will lose their jobs and the paper will cease publication if co-owner Len Goodman continues to stall its transition to a nonprofit format. (Paid source: Tribune)

2. Work to restore Lincoln Park’s North Pond begins today and is expected to run through November. The 150-year-old man-made structure is drying up due to erosion, according to the Lincoln Park Conservancy. (Block Club)
3. Lakeview Pantry was one of 10 organizations to receive the 2022 Mayor’s Medal of Honor, Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s office announced Thursday.
