Butt Cheek Gunshot; 300-Pound Stiletto Sporting Robber

From an overweight robber sporting stilettos to a woman pulling a knife at a local hospital, these are the 19th District Police Department's most recent reports.

The following items are based on police reports from Chicago's 19th Police District.

The district provides police protection on Chicago's north side, from Lawrence Avenue on the north, Fullerton Avenue on the south, the Chicago River on the west and Lake Michigan on the east. 

NORTH CENTER

Gangster, 4 Friends Attack Teens on Addison

Police arrested five teenagers over the weekend—one who they say admitted to being a member of the Spanish Gangster Disciples—after they reportedly attacked two other teens in the 2100 block of West Addison Street.

LINCOLN PARK

Two Men Rob Resident in Nearby Boystown

A 26-year-old Lincoln Park resident called police Sunday around 7 p.m. after she was robbed in nearby Boystown, at the corner of North Halsted and Roscoe streets.

There, two men, believed to be around 18 years old, pushed the woman up against a fence, pressed an object into her side and said, “Give me your phone and you wont get hurt,” according to the report.

The woman handed over her phone and purse and the two suspects said, “Don’t tell anyone or you’ll get hurt.”

After running away, the woman had someone on the street call the police for her, she said. Officers tracked her phone to the corner of Fullerton and Sheffield avenues before it was turned off. They also spoke to the doorman at Roscoe’s Tavern in Boystown who said he remembered seeing two men fitting the suspects' description earlier in the evening.

Woman Robbed at Work on North Broadway

A 19-year-old LA Tan employee called police Jan. 11 at about 4:30 p.m., when a man walked into the store at 3110 N. Broadway Ave., took her laptop and dodged her on his way out. The victim said she was using the bathroom when she heard the bell on the door, which typically alerts her to new customers. When she got out, there was a man believed to be in his early 20s behind the counter with her computer bag, according to the report.

The woman reportedly demanded her bag, but the man didn't give it up. When the suspect started walking toward the exit, she reportedly sprinted to the door and locked it. She told the suspect she was calling the police, but he shoved her against the wall, unlocked the door and fled, according to the report. Police weren't able to immediately locate him, though the investigation was ongoing as of Monday afternoon.

Man Raped after Boystown Party

A 25-year-old man, who was possibly drugged, told police he was raped after a party at a Boystown bar over the weekend.

The Lake View victim said he was invited to the party at Sidetrack Jan. 11 by the offender, who is a 27-year-old man living in the 800 block of Cornelia Avenue, according to the police report. He reportedly got to the bar, located at 3349 N. Halsted St., around 9:30 p.m.

300-Pound Robber in High Heels Targets Suburban Man

Officers responded to the 3700 block of North Fremont Street Jan. 12 after a 23-year-old Arlington Heights man was threatened with a baton and robbed by an overweight man who was wearing high heels, police say.

The victim was walking home from a bar on Addison Street when a man, who was described as weighing around 300 pounds, reportedly asked him, “Where are you going? Where do you live? Is there anybody there right now?”

The man told police the suspect was wearing blue jeans and black high heels when he pulled out an expandable baton and shouted, “Give me all your money!” The man gave up his cell phone and wasn’t hurt. The suspect then told the man to “keep walking” while he fled, the report said. Officers searched for the offender, but couldn’t find him.

Three Men Attack off North Broadway

A 23-year-old man called police around 2 a.m. Jan. 12, when three unknown men reportedly jumped him near the corner of North Broadway and West Melrose avenues.

He told police the three approached him from behind, pushed him into a parked car and started punching him in the face, the report said. They stole his cell phone and fled. The man refused medical treatment, and police were still searching for the suspects as of Monday afternoon.

Woman Refuses to Leave Hospital, Pulls Knife

Police arrested a 44-year-old Lake View woman Sunday morning at 7 a.m. when she reportedly refused to leave Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital, and then pulled a box cutter on a security guard.

The hospital’s security guard asked the woman multiple times to leave before she took the knife and yelled, “I’m going to cut you, b----!”

Police say the woman left the hospital without hurting anyone, and officers found and arrested her in the 800 block of West Wellington Avenue. She was taken into custody and to the 19th Police District for processing. 

UPTOWN

Man Nearly Shot Outside McDonald’s

A 30-year-old Uptown man called police around 7 p.m. on Jan 10 when multiple bullets shot through his umbrella while he was walking near the corner of Wilson Avenue and Sheridan Road. Police also found what looked like bullet holes in the awning of the McDonald’s on that corner, they said.

The man told police he dropped his umbrella and ran when he heard the gunshots. Afterward, he saw the holes. He didn’t think he was the intended target of the shooting, he said. Police searched the area and checked McDonald’s surveillance footage, but couldn’t find the shooter.

Man Shot in Butt Cheek

Police were called to the 4100 block of North Clarendon Avenue around 1 p.m. Jan. 11 when a 19-year-old man was reportedly shot while walking down the street. Police say he was on Clarendon with a friend when a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and pants started shooting from behind.

Both started running, but the man realized he “sustained a gunshot wound to the left buttocks.” He was taken in an ambulance to Weiss Memorial Hospital where he was reportedly listed in good condition. Police couldn’t find the suspect after he allegedly got into a sport utility vehicle and sped off.
