Patrick Kane's Weekend According to Social Media

Kisses for some, birthday shots and photos for others over a weekend in his hometown that local police are now investigating.

Patrick Kane played golf Saturday afternoon at the Brierwood Country Club in Hamburg, and that night he was spotted in several spots around Buffalo, drinking, meeting fans, eating frozen custard. When you’re a championship-winning pro athlete, your every move may be chronicled on social media by those who cross your path.

Some want photos. Some want kisses. Some want revelry.

“I kissed Patrick Kane,” shared one woman shared with her Twitter friends over the weekend.

“Patrick Kane bought me a birthday shot last night,” one man wrote.

For the 26-year-old Chicago Blackhawks star and three-time Stanley Cup champ, the fame and adoration is often reflected on Twitter and Facebook. And sometimes, those aren’t the best of moments. Kane has been criticized for immature and foolish behavior. Several years ago, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after he was arrested and accused of punching a Buffalo-area cab driver.

Police in Kane’s hometown of Hamburg, NY, are now investigating the Blackhawks player after a rape accusation was made against him for an incident that allegedly took place last weekend. Kane reportedly made stops at Tappo, City Tavern and SkyBar in the Buffalo area.

At 2:15 a.m., someone tweeted: “Pat Kane is (xxxx)-bombed at the bar. Told me he was too bombed for a pic, so of course I snap chatted a pic of him anyway.”

More fan tweets offer a glimpse of what that weekend was like — apparently very similar to his other nights out in his hometown.
