Pearl Jam to Play Wrigley Field in July

It's official: The American rock stars officially announced their plans to play at the stadium early Wednesday morning.

After a full day of teasing tweets on Tuesday, Pearl Jam officially announced its plans to play at Wrigley Field on July 19.

“IT'S OFFICIAL: Pearl Jam will be playing at Wrigley Field. Will you be there?” the band tweeted around 8 a.m., accompanied by a photo of the Wrigley Field scoreboard and a Facebook invite.

Tickets will go on sale February 9 at 10 a.m. And while they won’t be available at the Wrigley Field Box Office, Pearl Jam fans can buy tickets on tickets.com or by calling 1-800-THE-CUBS, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Chicago Cubs followed Pearl Jam’s Twitter announcement minutes later by tweeting a photo of the iconic Wrigley Field Marquee reading, “Live Nation & Wrigley Field Welcome Pearl Jam July 19, 2013.”

Pearl Jam is the second concert scheduled for 2013 to be announced at Wrigley, the first being Jason Aldean slated to play July 30. In late November, the Cubs reported more than 3,000 neighborhood residents had already purchased tickets.
