Ravenswood Man Accused In Lake View Robbery

CHICAGO, IL — A North Side man is accused of holding up three men during an armed robbery last month at a Near North Side CTA train station, according to Chicago police. The 18-year-old also was allegedly involved in another earlier robbery on the North Side.
Alphanso Talley, 18, of the 4800 block of North Francisco Avenue in the Ravenswood neighborhood, was charged with three counts of felony armed robbery and two counts of aggravated robbery in the October incidents. His bail hearing is scheduled for Monday.
According to police, Talley allegedly confronted three men — ages 22, 24 and 26 — at the Grand Avenue Station, 521 N. State St., at around 12:25 p.m. Oct. 21. He's accused of then flashing a gun and demanding the victims' belongings before fleeing the scene with them, police said. No one was hurt in the incident.

The earlier robbery happened at around 2:45 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 3200 block of North Clark Street in the Lake View neighborhood. Talley allegedly approached two men — ages 20 and 23 — as they walked down an alley and displayed what the victims believed to be a gun, according to police.
After demanding their belongings, Talley allegedly beat both men, police said. The 20-year-old victim was treated at and released from St. Francis Hospital.

Police arrested Talley at around 1 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 in the 400 block of North State Street. CTA helped Area North and Central detectives in charging Talley, who was identified by the victims, according to police.
