Red Pig on North Broadway has New Menu, Management (PHOTOS)
Formerly known as Pho & I, Red Pig Asian Kitchen has dropped Vietnamese food from its menu to create new flavors in Lake View.
After closing for more than a month in East Lake View, Red Pig Asian Kitchen is finally sporting a "Grand Opening" sign in its front window.
The restaurant at 2932 N. Broadway was once the popular Vietnamese and Thai eatery Pho & I, but after changing ownership, the name Red Pig Asian Kitchen was born. And according to employee Manan Junsomphot, that’s not the only thing that’s changed.
“Now that the restaurant has new owners, we changed everything,” Junsomphot said. “There is no more Vietnamese food. We’re now an Asian kitchen, and there is nothing like it around here.”

Although the curved wood interior stayed the same, Junsomphot said everything else—down to the style of music—is different from Pho & I. That’s including the new house sauce Junsomphot says chefs call “Awesome sauce.”
And according to residents who have tried Red Pig, everything they ate, including the “Awesome sauce” was pretty impressive.

“My Grandma and I were on a mission for some soup. She nominated Pho & I, and we went looking for it, only to find that it had closed,” wrote Shaina K. on Yelp. "So we decided to give Red Pig a shot. … Their awesome sauce is great and has a kick to it! ... All of the portions were hearty and worth it at regular price. Everything came out hot and tasty, and full of flavor. I'll be back.”
