1. Two armed robberies occurred Dec. 7 in the 1000 block of Addison near Wrigley Field. The attackers wore ski masks and are suspected to be in their teens or early 20s. (FOX)
2. The city is launching a study to improve the North Side’s Clark Street Corridor. A $250,000 “Crossroads” project will make improvements to a one mile stretch of Clark from Foster to Montrose. (CBS)
3. Due to “a series of violent incidents” in city neighborhoods including Lakeview, the Chicago Police Department will cancel one regular day off for officers. The department did the same thing last month ahead of the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict. (FOX)
4. The City Council Rules Committee has yet to vote on a new ward map. Another hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. tomorrow. (Block Club)
5. The first case of the omicron variant of the coronavirus has been confirmed in Illinois, in a Chicago resident who was fully vaccinated and boosted. The news comes on the same day studies show better protection against omicron in people who have received a Pfizer booster. (Patch)
