1. Public schools are expected to return to in-person learning today after four days of canceled class. The Chicago Teachers Union reached a tentative agreement with the district Monday after asking for better measures to protect against COVID-19. (Chalkbeat)
2. The Chicago Department of Public Health is distributing 1.5 million masks to city aldermen this week as the omicron variant of the coronavirus infects an unprecedented number of Chicagoans. Those interested in obtaining a KN95 mask from the city should contact their alderman’s office. (NBC)
3. More than 130 people in Lakeview have called 311 this winter to report icy conditions on neighborhood sidewalks. The city has seen about 1,700 complaints so far this season, with West Ridge and West Town reporting the most incidents of black ice. (CBS)
4. Milly’s Pizza In The Pan will open Feb. 15 in Uptown after operating out of a Logan Square ghost kitchen since 2020. Voted one of the city’s best pizzas by the Chicago Tribune, the new location will offer dine-in options for up to 20 people, along with carryout and delivery. (Block Club)
5. More than 12,000 people have signed a petition asking Chicago leaders to restore the Uptown Theatre. The movie house opened on North Broadway nearly 100 years ago but has been closed since 1981. (WGN)
