SELVN to Discuss Broadway Youth Center Monday

The group is expected to discuss the Broadway Youth Center, which needs to receive a special-use permit to stay open in its current Wellington location.

The South East Lake View Neighbors are set to meet Monday at 7 p.m. at 656 W. Barry (the Second Unitarian Church) — and many are expecting that the organization will discuss the Broadway Youth Center's special zoning permit.

The Broadway Youth Center has been operating inside the Wellington Avenue United Church of Christ since June, but learned recently that they'll need a special-use permit to stay open. The South East Lake View Neighbors (SELVN) have previously said they would support the agency, as long as the neighborhood group could veto changes in operating hours.

SELVN has held several meetings so far to discuss resident's reaction to the Center, and Citizens for a Safer Lake View (a grassroots organization) recently posted to the Patch boards announcing an upcoming meeting on Monday.

There's no information available on the SELVN website on the upcoming meeting.
