1. Former Illinois Speaker of the House Mike Madigan was indicted on federal corruption charges Wednesday. The South Side Democrat faces more than 20 charges including racketeering, wire fraud and bribery. (Patch)

2. The CTA is reassuring concerned Lakeview residents who took to social media after spotting some concrete chunks missing from the new Red-Purple Bypass. A spokesperson told Block Club the missing pieces “are only cosmetic and were knocked off safely by the contractor to remove a danger.” (Block Club)
