1. Three women were robbed in Lakeview over the span of 25 minutes Thursday, NBC News reports. Two of the women were assaulted, including a 68 year old who was punched in the face in the 1300 block of West School Street. Another was thrown to the ground in the 3900 block of North Southport Avenue. Police did not say if the incidents were connected. (NBC5)
2. Chicago police issued a separate warning Thursday after armed robbers targeted six people on Lakeview's residential streets over the past two weeks. Three altercations occurred the night of Dec. 1. (CBS2)
3. Illinois set a record Thursday for the most COVID-19 tests conducted in a single day: 231,876. More than 11,500 new cases were confirmed Dec. 2 by the Illinois Department of Public Health, the most of any single day since December 2020. (Shaw Media)
4. Yoshi’s Cafe will close Dec. 12 after 39 years in Lakeview. Owner Nobuko Katsumura is selling the “beloved restaurant that pioneered the fusion of French and Asian cuisine.” (Paid source: Tribune)
