It’s now pretty clear why Lake View High School English teacher Vaughn Camacho is also the school’s wrestling coach.
The 26-year-old teacher and Lake View resident is moonlighting as a mixed martial arts fighter, DNAinfo reports. Camacho, also known as “Honey Badger” while in the ring, says he’s broken four ribs, a knuckle, and his nose, as well as chipping a few teeth while fighting.
"I wanted a career where people grow because of you, and with teaching, the better teacher you are, the more people grow around you,” he told DNAinfo. “…I've never hated once going to work. I never wanted a career where I was just punching the clock and having a grim outlook every day. I'm so glad that didn't happen."
