2nd Man Dies After Lemont Tesla Crash: Will County Sheriff
The 33-year-old man is the second death in a single-vehicle crash that happened at 2:11 a.m. Wednesday.
LEMONT, IL — A backseat passenger critically injured in a crash in Lemont on Wednesday has died from his injuries, the Will County Sheriff's Office said.
The 33-year-old man is the second death in a single-vehicle crash that happened at 2:11 a.m. Wednesday, near Archer Avenue and 135th Street in Lemont. The man had been airlifted to the hospital after the crash.
Front-seat passenger Sameer Gowani, 36, of Lisle, was also killed in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the Will County Sheriff's Office said.

The 34-year-old driver was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The Will County Sheriff's Office said the vehicle, a Tesla Model 3, was heading eastbound on 135th Street at a high rate of speed, and lost control while maneuvering the curve west of Archer Avenue.

The car crossed over the double yellow line in the road, struck the curb on the north side of the road, went airborne, touched down in a grassy area, over a raised median, and struck another curb before going down an embankment near Long Run Creek.
The sheriff's office said that charges have not been filed for the driver but are being reviewed at this time.
