Catch-And-Release Fishing Derby Held By The Forge
The event aims to engage the community in assessing the health of key fish populations in the quarry.
LEMONT, IL — The Forge Charitable Adventures, in collaboration with the Village of Lemont and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, will host a six-month catch-and-release fishing derby at the Great Lakes Quarries in the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area.
According to the organization, this event aims to engage the community in helping to assess the health of key fish populations by species and to evaluate the overall quality of the fishing environment.
The derby started on June 1, and ends on Nov. 30. Registration is $20 per person, and you can register through Nov. 1.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in five categories of fish: large mouth bass, walleye, Northern Pike, black or white crappie, and Bluegill.
Tournament fishing is only permitted in the Great Lakes Quarries.
