Celebrate Albert Wend's 100th Birthday With Lemont Historical Society

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Area Historical Society will hold a celebration on Sunday to honor lifelong Lemont resident Albert Wend's 100th birthday.

Last fall, Wend, a World War II veteran, was chosen as the Grand Marshal of the 2023 Keepataw Day Parade. Wend was born in Lemont in 1924 and has lived all his life in the town.

The birthday celebration will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Lemont Area Historical Society, 306 Lemont St.

According to the society, there will be birthday cake, "musical nostalgia," and a toast to a century.
