Cook County Sheriff's Police to Conduct Roadside Safety Check in Lemont
Police will set up a checkpoint at Archer Avenue and Route 83 on Friday, July 27.

The Cook County Sheriff's Police will conduct a roadside safety checkpoint Friday night in an effort to curb drunk driving.
Police will set up a checkpoint at Archer Avenue and Route 83 in the evening hours Friday, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart annouced Wednesday.
During the safety check, vehicles will be stopped randomly based on the flow of traffic, according to a press release.

Drivers will be screened for proper licensing and registration, and vehicles will be checked for equipment and other violations. Any suspicious passengers will be subject to questioning by police.
The Sheriff's Random Roadside Safety Check Program is conducted regularly across Cook County in an effort to promote safe driving, according to the release.
