LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Police Department made a number of arrests earlier this month for a number of traffic violations and also issued citations for various offenses, police announced on Tuesday.

Criminal charges are not proof that a person is guilty, and all residents arrested are presumed innocent until found guilty.

Maricruz Escareno, 31, Northlake, was arrested at 4:43 p.m. on March 7 for driving while her license is suspended or revoked and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following an incident at Old Lemont Road and Des Plaines River Drive. Escareno was issued a March 25 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

Lamont Brown, 39, Chicago, was arrested at 7:47 p.m. on March 7 for driving while his license is suspended or revoked and speeding (26-34 MPH over the speed limit) following a traffic stop at 127thStreet and High Road. Brown was issued an April 15 court date at the Will County Courthouse.

Adonia A. Clements-Akins, 40, Chicago, was arrested at 10:24 a.m. on March 8 for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and driving without insurance following a traffic stop at McCarthy Road and Woodcrest Lane. Clements-Akins was issued a March 23 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

Maricela Gomez-Enciso, 43, Joliet, was arrested at 7 a.mm. on March 11 for driving without a valid license (never issued) following an incident in the 11600 Block of Lemont Road. Gomez-Enciso was issued a May 5 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

Glen Luporini, 55, Woodridge, was arrested at 11:15 on March 11 for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding (35+ MPH over the speed limit) following a traffic stop in the 11100 Block of Lemont Road. Luporini was issued a May 5 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

CITATIONS

Luis A. Ortega Gomez, 24, Melrose Park was issued a violation at 6:16 p.m. on March 7 for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, obstructing an investigation, and littering following an incident at Lemont Road and Old Lemont Road. Ortega-Gomez will appear in the local court.

A juvenile was given a local ordinance citation 10:15 a.m. on March 10 for violation of the Cannabis Regulation and Tax act following an incident in the 800 Block of Porter Street. The juvenile will appear in the local court.
