Election Judges, Polling Place Technicians Needed For Cook County

Election judges are paid $250, and polling place technicians are paid $400.

COOK COUNTY, IL — The Cook County Clerk's Office is looking for election judges and polling place technicians in suburban Cook County for the upcoming Election Day on Nov. 5.

You can apply online at the clerk's website. Requirements vary depending on which position you apply for. High school juniors and seniors can apply to serve as election judges.

Election judges are paid $250, and polling place technicians are paid $400.

Polling place technicians have more responsibility for setting up and maintaining the voting equipment, and thus receive more training and a higher pay, according to the county clerk.

Both positions work on Election Day from 5 a.m. until the results are transmitted and equipment packed up.
