District 113A Board Candidate Hosts Forum

Al Malley recently announced that he will hold a town hall meeting open to the Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A community. The topic of discussion will focus on the financial situation in District 113A. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, at the new Lemont Township Community Center, 16300 Alba Street.

Participants will be able to get specific answers about the differences between the February 2010 limiting rate referendum, the November 2010 working cash bond referendum and the current April 5 working cash bond referendum. Other topics will include the likelihood of a state takeover and how that may affect the community.

Malley is a Certified Public Accountant and a former member of the district finance committee. He has been following the financial situation in District 113A for three years and has advised community
members of his findings. He is a Lemont resident and a current candidate for school board member.

The presentation will last about 30 minutes and he will address questions from the audience about the referenda and recent changes to Cook County property taxes. Residents of both Cook and
DuPage counties are encouraged to bring their tax bills (second installments for Cook) for the last two years to follow along. Coffee and tea will be served.
