Hazardous Waste Recycling Day Planned In Lemont

There will be a hazardous waste recycling day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 14 at the Metra parking lot.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Environmental Advisory Commission and CITGO will hold a hazardous waste recycling day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 14 at the Metra parking lot, 101 Main St.

Acceptable items at the event include: motor oil recycling, document disposal, electronics recycling, prescription medication collection, CFL and fluorescent light bulb collection, battery collection, glasses/hearing aids/printer inks/cell phones, bike recycling, household goods and household hazardous waste. There will also be a food collection at the event for the food pantries.

Non-acceptable items include latex paint, radioactive wastes, smoke detectors, explosives, flares, gunpowder, ammunition, fire extinguishers and gas cylinders.
