Lemont High School 'College Night' Aids In College Application Process

The event features a panel discussion including seniors who will help students navigate questions of where to apply, essays, financial aid.

LEMONT, IL — Navigating the college application process can be a process filled with anxiety and nervousness. But Lemont High School officials are hoping that an upcoming event that uses senior class members as panelists will take some of the tension out of the experience for students just starting their college journey.

The school will host a College Talk event at 6:30 p.m. on April 20 when families of freshman, sophomore and junior students will have the opportunity to learn more about what goes into surviving the college application process.

The event will feature a panel of Lemont seniors who will discuss what they wish they would have known about applying for college when they began their own experience. The panel discussion will include several topics including how younger students can prepare their college resume’, deciding which schools to apply to, essay-writing, financial aid and athletic recruiting, school officials said.
