LEMONT, IL — Four Lemont High School students were honored with May Student of the Month accolades at the district’s Board of Education meeting on May 13. The honorees were senior Jason Piskule (Student Services), junior Vince Pecoraro (Special Education), sophomore Noah Telitz (Driver Education) and freshman Evangeline Topete (Health), according to a release from LHS.
Each month, Lemont High School honors a student from each grade level for hard work and dedication to the school and the community. Selections rotate among the school’s various departments from month to month.
Local businessman Brad Grcevic, of Edward Jones, Inc., contributes a donation each month to a charity selected by the award winners. This month’s winners selected Youth Outlook to receive the donation, the school said.

Evangeline is a high honor roll student whose favorite classes have included English I Honors, Creative Writing, and Intro to Digital Art. Evangeline was tabbed as a captain on the Speech Team, was a Homecoming Court nominee, and has received both Artist of the Month and UpLifting Lemont awards this year. With passions in writing and speaking, she would love to become an author or writer, and possibly do something involving public speaking. In her free time, Evangeline enjoys painting, writing, creating art, spending time with family and friends, and going to concerts and hearing live music.

Department. Noah is an honor roll student who has a great interest in Physical Education, with
Advanced Athletic Performance as his favorite class. His teachers state he works hard inside and

the classroom atmosphere enjoyable. Noah takes Driver Education seriously and often leads class
discussions. A member of the school’s football, wrestling, and track and field programs, he was a
freshman/sophomore state qualifier in wrestling. In the future, Noah hopes to become a physical education teacher and football coach. He likes fishing, camping, and watching the Star Wars films in his spare time.
Vince Pecoraro, Junior, Special Education

His teachers describe him as smart, funny, and very sociable, and applaud the positive energy he brings to class and the way he takes charge in class discussions. Unafraid to ask for help and receptive to feedback, he is willing to revise his work to improve his understanding of material. Vince recognizes the importance of his education, and refuses to give up when faced with challenges. On top of all of that, he is kind and polite to classmates and teachers alike. Vince hopes to attend the College of DuPage and study archaeology. In his free time, Vince works at Jewel and enjoys sports and playing video games.
Jason Piskule, Senior, Student Services
