Lemont Indians Battle Oak Forest Bengals Friday Night
The Indians will meet the Bengals on the gridiron Friday night in a Homecoming showdown at Oak Forest. Patch previews the South Suburban Blue match.
Coming into this week's homecoming game, the Oak Forest Bengals are riding a four-week undefeated streak, thanks to a stingy defense that's allowing an average of under 12 points per game. With the defense holding up its end of the bargain, the offense has run wild, posting an average of 44 points per game.
But while the Bengals have been on the prowl this season, the Lemont Indians have posted even better numbers while also notching a 4-0 record. The Indians have allowed an average of just over 7 points per game—including three shutouts—and posted an average of a little over 42 points per game on offense.
The two squads get it done offensively on the ground, with the Bengals led by steamrolling running back Matt Barry, while Lemont relies on Christos Giatras to move the chains.

On defense, the Indians allowed less than 100 yards total through the first three games of the season, before running into Tinley Park High School last week. The Titans not only took an early lead in the game, but also kept things interesting deep into the game, before falling 31-24.
For the Bengals, defense hasn't been a problem, either, as the black and gold boys have held opponents in check with gang tackling and timely stops to get off the field.

When the two teams clash tonight, one will see its undefeated season go up in smoke. Can the Bengals avenge their 41-13 loss from last season, or will the Indians once again prove to be too much? The South Suburban Blue Conference showdown kicks off at 7 p.m. at Oak Forest High School.
