Lemont Man Accused of Assaulting Disabled Woman
Darryl Gillett is charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault following an Aug. 27 incident.

Bail was set at $400,000 Monday for a 27-year-old Lemont man charged with with sexually assaulting a mentally disabled woman, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Department.
Darryl Gillett, of the 18000 block of Center Drive, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault after he allegedly took advantage of a 44-year-old woman with the mentality of a child, according to a release from the Cook County Sheriff's office.
The incident was reported on Aug. 27 by a relative and roommate of the woman, who said she found Gillett and the victim on a couch in the garage engaging in a sex act, police said.

The relative screamed at Gillett, who refused to answer her questions. He left the residence and police later found him checked in at an area medical facility. When the relative asked the victim what happened, the victim said Gillett told her she shouldn't tell anyone, according to the sheriff's department.
Police arrested Gillett after he was discharged from the medical facility. During their investigation, Gillett claimed he didn't recall anything happening with the victim and that he was intoxicated on the day of the assault.
Gillett's next court date is Oct. 4 in Bridgeview.
