Lemont Police Release Numbers From Labor Day Roadside Checks
The department netted 87 arrests and 89 tickets during its traffic safety crackdown over the holiday weekend.

Lemont police recently released the number of arrests and tickets issued during their Labor Day weekend road safety crackdown.
The checkpoints were funded through a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Traffic Safety, and coincided with the statewide "You Drink and Drive. You Lose" campaign.
There were 87 arrests and 89 tickets total, according to the release.

- Driving Under the Influence: 9
- No Valid Drivers License: 14
- Driving with a Revoked/Suspended License: 15
- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: 21
- Possession of Cannabis: 15
- Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: 12
- Arrest of a Fugitive: 1
