Lemontster Days 2024: Schedule Of Events

LEMONT, IL — It's hard to believe, but autumn will soon be upon us. With the arrival of fall, that means it's time for Lemont's annual Lemontster Days, which brings a variety of autumnal events to town.

Here's a look at what's planned so far this year. Note that some events could be added or changed; more details will be available soon.

• Scarecrow Trail Competition, Sept. 21 - Oct. 19. Hosted by Lemont Junior Women's Club and Lemont Township. Vote for your favorite scarecrow through Oct. 19.
• Scarecrow Fest, Sept. 21. Hosted by Lemont Junior Women's Club and Lemont Township. Noon to 3 p.m. at Lemont Township Community Center. Hay rides, DJ, storytime and more.
• Monster and Me Mile Run, Sept. 21. Hosted by the Lemont Juniorettes. Noon at the Lemont Township Community Center Heritage Trail. $10 per person.
• "Spirits of the Limestone" bus tour, Sept. 28. Hosted by Lemont Area Historical Society.
• "Spirits of the Limestone" bar crawl, Sept. 28. Hosted by Lemont Area Historical Society in downtown Lemont.
• Oct. 1 - Oct. 31, "Treat or Treat" for the food pantries. Hosted by Hope and Friendship Foundation. Drop off food donations to the Lemont Police Department or by the Jewel Customer Service counter.
• Oct. 5, Lemont Fire District Open House. Event will be at Fire Station No. 1, 15900 New Ave. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Demonstrations, displays and fire trucks.
• Oct. 5, Harvest Fest. Event will be at the Lemont Park District, from 3 to 6 p.m. Food, beer tent, hayrides, pony rides, kids activities and more.
• Oct. 11, Drive-In Movie, "Casper." At the Lemont Park District, gates open at 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
• Oct. 12, Monster Mash. At The Forge: Lemont Quarries, starting at 3 p.m. Live music, Halloween activities, costume contests and more.
• Oct. 26, Lemontster Trick-or-Treating. In downtown Lemont.
• October, Lemontster Manor Decorating Contest. Register your home for the contest with the park district. Decorations must be up by Oct. 23. Top three winners will be announced on social media.
