Metra Seeks Input on New Strategic Plan
Metra will host a public meeting to represent South Suburban Cook County at Homewood Village Hall on July 19.
For commuters with ideas or complaints about the Southland Metra stations, the day of reckoning is near.
Metra is crafting its first strategic plan in several decades, and is holding a series of public meetings to give riders the opportunity to voice their opinions about the agency.
A meeting for South Suburban Cook Count will be held Thursday, July 19, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at , 2020 Chestnut Road in Homewood.

Specifically, the meeting will address the following questions:
- What should Metra's mission be?
- What should Metra's vision for the future be?
- What projects should Metra focus its energies and resources on?
“It’s absolutely essential that our strategic plan is produced with the input of all our stakeholders,” Metra Executive Director/CEO Alex Clifford said in a news release. “That is why we are requesting their thoughts and suggestions from the very beginning of this process. We can’t hope to have an effective and legitimate document without it.”

Those who would like to participate, but don't wish to attend the meeting are invited to fill out a survey on Metra's website.
