Mother's Day Ideas: Patch Picks

Looking for a way to make mom feel special? Take advantage of several events in Lemont to help mom get a jump-start on her special day.

Mother's Day Activities

1. Magic of Moms at the Lemont Library

Kids can spend time with mom Thursday at the Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St. During the Magic of Moms program for 2-year-olds, a special storytime will celebrate moms and the all they do from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. From 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., moms and their 3-and 4-year-olds can come for a special storytime, and kids can make a craft to give to mom on her special day. 2. Brunch at Cog Hill

Celebrate Mother’s Day with brunch at , 12294 Archer Ave. Fare will include mimosas, stuffed french toast, fresh fruit salad, assorted baked breads, carved meats and more. Reservations are required. Adults are $36.95 and children under 10 are $17.95. Call 866-264-4455, ext. 301 for reservations.

3. Take Professional Photos

Get a professional photograph or portrait taken with mom Sunday at Lemont’s newest business, Imageicon, 311 Canal St. Call Rachel Owen at 630-240-1037 in advance to schedule an appointment.

4. Garden Sale

Help mom’s garden grow by stopping by the Lemont Garden Club’s annual "Perennials on Parade" plant sale this weekend from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the  parking lot. The sale will run rain or shine. For more info, call Phyllis at 630-257-3538.

5. Mount Assisi Play

Take mom to see the musical comedy “Nunsense,” by the theater students at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 6, or Saturday, May 7. The school is located at 13860 Main St. in Lemont. Tickets are $10 at the door. For more information, call 630- 257-7844, ext. 39.
