Patch Picks: Let Your Voice Be Heard
Looking for a way to get more involved in your community? Here are a number of ways you can offer your input.

Every Thursday, Patch will run a weekly feature called Patch Picks, highlighting editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off, and more.
You’ll find useful lists to help you, your family, friends, and significant others find the best places for everything from Sunday brunch to New Year’s Eve celebrations, pumpkin patches, date night destinations, florists, girlfriend nights out, kids party places, parks and more.
For this week, we're looking at ways you can share your ideas with various community organizations.
1. Lemont's Comprehensive Plan
Village officials are updating Lemont’s comprehensive plan, and to kick off the process they are inviting community members to offer some input. A survey is now available at www.lemont.il.us/lemont2030.
2. Active Transportation Plan
Walkers and bikers are invited to weigh in on the Active Transportation Plan for Lemont which will establish the community's goals for walking, bicycling, and other modes of active transportation. The next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19, at the , 16300 Alba St. For those who cannot attend, a survey is available at www.lemont.il.us.

3. Forest Preserve District of Cook County
The Forest Preserve District of Cook County is gathering information from its visitors to improve its services. Community members who have suggestions for capital improvements can share their thoughts and experiences. Surveys can be found at http://fpdcc.com.
4. Metra Survey
Metra is asking riders to complete a short survey regarding minor schedule changes to the Heritage Corridor line. The form can be found on the Metra website. Customers may also call 312-322-6777 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

5. Lemont Public Library Teen Advisory Group
This is the chance for teens ages 12 to 17 to share their ideas for the . The TAG will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 29, Oct. 27, and Nov. 17. Snacks and gaming are included in the meetings. Visit the library’s website for more information.
