Patch Picks: Pumpkin Farms

For this week, we're looking at area pumpkin farms.

1. Puckerville Farms, 13332 Bell Road, Lemont

The farm has been growing and selling pumpkins for 20 years, and offers a number of fall products such as corn stalks, straw bales, mums, firewood and other staples of the harvest season. Visitors can also enjoy hayrides and bonfires.

2. Anderson Farm, 251 Montgomery Road, Montgomery

Open daily through Halloween, the farm offers fresh produce including pumpkins, sweet corn, yellow squash, and potatoes, as well as Michigan apples and cider September through October. Hayrides, a straw maze and petting farm are available the last three weekends in October.

3. Keller's Farm Stand, 2500 Johnson Road, Oswego

The 12-acre farm includes a corn maze, hay wagon ride, pedal tractors, kids straw maze, grain boxes, and a large kids’ play area with pirate ship, castle, train, tractor, truck and more. Visitors can also pick a pumpkin off the vine from the massive pumpkin patch.

4. , 680 N Bolingbrook Drive, Bolingbrook

The pumpkin farm offers a full selection of fall decorations and seasonal accessories, as well as free hayrides, air slides, train rides (weekends only), a corn maze, hay tunnel and petting zoo.

5. Heaps Giant Pumpkin Farm, 4853 U.S. 52, Minooka

Navigate the 30-acre pumpkin patch to find the perfect one. Also enjoy the corn maze, bean maze, day and moonlight hayrides, the Kiddie Corn Box and farm animals.
