Plans Continue For Stephen Street Trail Connection Bridge Project

The Village received an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program grant for $2 million in June 2021.

LEMONT, IL — The Stephen Street trail connection bridge project continues to move forward, after the Lemont Village Board approved a funding commitment at its Monday meeting.

The Village has been pursuing this trail connection for several years, and was awarded an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program grant for $2 million in June 2021, according to Board documents.

Phase 1 engineering for the project was approved in May. The Board has now approved additional local funding of $44,195 for phase two engineering; the remainder of the engineering costs will be paid by the grant.
