The National Weather Service in Romeoville has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for northern Illinois, including Cook County and the Lemont area.
According to the Joliet Weather Center, storms that move into the area overnight could produce heavy rains, dangerous lightning, damaging winds and large hail.
There is also the potential — albeit slight — for an isolated tornado, according to a post on the Weather Center's Facebook page.
