LEMONT, IL — Over the past two years, Lemont High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society has rallied community support and spearheaded efforts for their “Lemont v Hunger” event. Students and the community packed more than 50,000 meals in 2023, and more than 100,000 meals in 2024, according to a release from LHS.
For this year's event on April 12, students have set their sights even higher, with a goal of packing 125,000 meals.
The National Honor Society is teaming with the meal-packing organization, Feed6, for this event, according to LHS. All meals will be donated to the Northern Chicago Food Depository. Students and staff from various Lemont High School clubs and groups will work together to achieve the ambitious goal set by the National Honor Society.

Each meal costs just 37 cents, but to meet its goal of packing 125,000 meals, the National Honor Society has set a fundraising target of $50,000, LHS said. To accomplish this, it is seeking sponsorships and encouraging online donations from the community. Sponsorship levels range from $75 (Bite level) to $750 (Feast level), but donations of any amount are welcome.
