Ticknor To Retire From District 210; Superintendent Search Underway

LEMONT, IL — Longtime superintendent Dr. Mary Ticknor is set to retire in 2025 after 13 years at the helm of Lemont Township District 210. District officials have begun to take preliminary steps in the search to find a superintendent to replace Ticknor.

Ticknor, who became superintendent in 2012, will have the distinction of being the second-longest serving superintendent in the history of District 210. During Ticknor's time at District 210, the district has earned many accolades, including being named a National Blue Ribbon Schools Exemplary High Performing School and exemplary distinctions from the Illinois State Board of Education, per a news release from the district.

In 2019, Ticknor was elected to the Suburban School Superintendents organization, which comprises superintendents who are recognized for demonstrating outstanding leadership.
