Turkeys Less Safe in Lemont Than in Neighboring Suburbs
Crain's Chicago Businesses rates Chicago area zip codes to determine which provide turkeys a "safe haven."

More people are likely enjoying turkey leftovers in Lemont this weekend than several of the surrounding communities, according to Crain's Chicago Business.
A report on the website's Market Facts 2010 feature determined suburban "turkey save havens" by rating hunting habits and consumer spending on turkey, gravy and stuffing. Zip codes were rated on a scale from -81 to +96, scores below zero designating towns as "turkey friendly."
Lemont received a score of 46, meaning the village is more likely than several surrounding communities to buy or hunt turkeys for Thanksgiving.

The highest scores in south suburban Cook County are in Western Springs (106) and Orland Park (96). The area's most turkey-friendly suburbs include Willow Springs (-25), Steger (-20) and Chicago Heights (-8).
