Whiz Kids: Boy Scout Troop 49
The troop made sure America's colors were flying across the village this Fourth of July with its "Flags Over Lemont" program.

Accomplishment: On June 28, members of Boy Scout Troop 49 in Lemont spent hours putting together hundreds of American flags for their "Flags Over Lemont" program. On five of the nation's flag holidays (Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day and Veterans Day), the scouts post the flags in front of homes and businesses throughout the community.
This year, the program has doubled its flags, with nearly 450 homes and businesses now registered.

The cost to participate is $25, all of which will toward camping trips for Troop 49. For more information, contact Mark Pawlak at 630-257-9375.
