Whiz Kids: Lemont High School Freshman Baseball Team

Each week, Lemont Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments.

Players: Franco Addante, Mario Aguinaga, Jimmy Brennan, Nate Broskovetz, Jack Byrnes, Jake Caballero, Ryan Dawson, Michael Gralla, Jamie Glista, Dan Harbut, Connor Koehler, Hunter LaDuke, Matt Martenson, Danny Newcomb, Jake Pack, Mike Pender, Frankie Pignone, Ben Sabourin, Jake Scarlati, Tyler Schoell, Nick Wielzorek and Jake Woday

Whiz Kids' School:

Grade: 9th (Freshman)

Coaches: Matt Synowiecki and Tim Norman

Accomplishment: The team recently wrapped up a successful season, finishing with a 26-7 record (18-1 conference).

Note from Coaches: We (Coach Synowiecki and Coach Norman) were very privileged to coach this freshmen baseball team. They were the type of team you hope for every year as a coach; they listen, they are hard-working and they are talented. Teams that are 22 players deep generally have some holes, but with this team it was quite the opposite. On any given day we were able to insert any player into the line-up, and we were confident that they would produce. Our team had a lot of fun and success this year, and we are confident that they will be very successful moving forward.
