CHICAGO, IL - Registration is now open for the 2021 SEA Blue Prostate Cancer Walk/Run at www.seablueprostatewalk.org. SEA Blue, the largest and longest running prostate cancer event in Chicago, will take place on Sunday, September 26th, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Lincoln Park on Chicago’s lakefront.

SEA Blue is a celebration of life, of those who have risen to the challenge to fight prostate cancer, of the lives that have been lost to the disease, and of the people we will help to combat it in the future through Support, Education, Advocacy and Awareness (the SEA in SEA Blue). People affected by all stages of the disease band together and build camaraderie at SEA Blue through togetherness, tears and triumph. “Last year was a virtual event, so we are so excited to gather in person to raise funds to help those affected by prostate cancer,” said Terri Likowski, program director for event presenter, Us TOO International.

In addition to a 5K run and celebration walk, this year’s SEA Blue will include live music, free lunch, snacks, and more. The event will be emceed by prostate cancer survivor and former WGN-TV news anchor Steve Sanders. In addition to the in-person event, SEA Blue welcomes participation from those not in the Chicago area through virtual fundraising or by setting up small, satellite events, such as a walk and run, a picnic, or other activity. There is no registration fee for this year’s event, but you must register to attend.

“September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and there is an urgent need for prostate cancer support, education, advocacy, and awareness here in Chicagoland and across the country,” said Likowski. “This year alone, nearly 250,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Additionally, every 15 minutes a man will die from this disease,” she added.

Money raised for SEA Blue will help fund the work of Us TOO International (www.ustoo.org), a nonprofit organization which offers educational resources and support services to the prostate cancer community at no charge. UroPartners is once again co-presenter of SEA Blue.
