Examiners Unable to Lift Prints From Body Found in Chicago River

Several question marks remain in the case of a dead body that was pulled over the weekend from a Northcenter section of the Chicago River.

The person’s identity had not yet been determined as of 11 a.m. Tuesday, though officials do know the victim is a white male in his mid- 30s or 40s, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

LAKE VIEW

Texas-based company My Fit Foods will open a new store on North Halsted Street in Lake View, making it one of the first in Chicago and the Midwest, representatives with the company confirmed.

Located at 3701 N. Halsted St. across from Whole Foods, the Lake View location is expected to open in late spring. It will be one of three new My Fit Foods storefronts in Chicago, with another at 157 W. North Ave. in Lincoln Park, and the third still under wraps.

Market Place for Sale: Owner 'Just Can't Compete'

Independent grocery store The Market Place is up for sale after national food retailers like Trader Joe’s, Walmart and the upcoming Walgreens moved in just blocks away, the store’s owner confirms.

Peter Stellas, the grandson of the grocery store’s founder, says he started seriously considering the sale about six months ago when news about North Broadway’s Walmart Neighborhood Market broke. The controversial store is what Stellas cites as the final straw.

LINCOLN SQUARE

Where Do Lincoln Square’s Wealthiest Residents Live?

It’s no surprise that household income in Lincoln Square is well above the state's average, but certain blocks in the community are far wealthier than others.

It’s all broken down by the website Rich Blocks, Poor Blocks, an online tool that combines Google Maps with the most recent Census data to show income and rent prices in every neighborhood in America.

According to the U.S. Census’ American Community Survey from 2007-2011, the richest people in town live north of Foster between Western and Ravenswood Avenues.
