Boston Marathon Explosions; 361 Chicagoans Entered
Injuries have been reported after explosions rocked the area near the race's finish line Monday. se injured.
Two explosions Monday near the finish line of the Boston Marathon have left two dead and several wounded, the New York Times is reporting.
CNN News is reporting that at least three people are dead and 176 injured.
Bloodied competitors and volunteers were seen leaving the scene and a medical tent near the finish was being used to treat the injured, the Times reports. One of those killed was an 8-year-old boy and injuries range from scrapes to severed limbs.

Boston Police also say they are questioning one Saudi who was seen acting suspiciously before the bombing and then running from the scene, according to CNN.
Though he did not use the words "terrorist attack" during a 5 p.m. national address, President Barack Obama said, "any responsible individuals, any responsible groups will feel the full weight of justice."

Nearly 40,000 people compete in the Boston Marathon annually with runners coming from all over the world. Of the 974 Illinoisans who registered for this year's race, 361 hail from within Chicago's city limits, according to the race’s website.
Fifty entrants live in the 60614 zip code area, which includes Lincoln Park. Similarly, 18 are listed as living in the 60610 area. They range in age from 22 to 72 years old.
