Cat Rescued From Roof Needs Forever Home
A 10-month-old kitty named Roofus wants to be yours. Meet this furry friend and consider giving him a forever home.
Meet Roofus!
Roofus is an active, athletic, 10-month-old cat with plush gray fur and two spots of white—one on his chest and another on his belly. He earned his name after spending four cold and wet days on a roof before being rescued and taken to PAWS Chicago in Lincoln Park.
PAWS volunteers said they're glad they found young Roofus so they can help him understand that people are kind and loving, and show him the feeling of curling up on a blanket with a special friend.

Watch PAWS Chicago: 'Make a Life-Saving Difference'
He was understandably frightened by all the changes in his life when he first arrived and spent a couple months at a foster home, according to his adoption profile.

Roofus' foster mom reports that while he is still shy with strangers and scared by loud noises, he's making great progress. He loves to play with toys, cuddle on her lap, and especially, to chase and wrestle with her resident male cat, who she follows around like a little gray shadow.
He LOVES to chase wand toys and laser pointers, and to bat around soft cat toys. He’ll even carry them from room to room to continue his games. After he settles down, he will curl up on your lap or lean against your leg and fall asleep.
He’s got a huge appetite and is still growing into his long legs, so he comes running when you shake his food bowl. When he wakes up, Roofus will stretch out all four legs and roll on his back for belly rubs. He’s uses his scratching post and litter box without problems.
Because he is nervous about loud noises and sudden movements, Roofus would do best in a home without young children, and definitely needs a feline companion to play with. A calm household would be best, with someone who wants to continue introducing Roofus to all the joys of being in a loving home.
