Police Warn Lincoln Park Businesses of Serial Robber

Chicago police warned North Side businesses Monday of several recent robberies which have primarily occurred in Lincoln Park, according to reports.

The alert says that in the incidents, robbers typically strike between 11:30 p.m. and 2:15 a.m., NBC Chicago reports. It says seven businesses, including a convenience store and a restaurant, had been targeted between Jan. 18 and Feb. 3.

"In each case an armed man entered the business and demanded money from the cash register," the NBC story says. "In some incidents, he brought items to the counter before robbing the store."

The following locations include those that have been targeted:

• The 3600 block of North Western Avenue in Roscoe Village.
• The 1500 block of West Fullerton Avenue in Lincoln Park
• The 1700 block of North Clybourn Avenue in Lincoln Park.
• The 2800 block of North Ashland Avenue, on the border of Lincoln Park and Lake View.
• The 1700 block of North Sheffield Avenue in Lincoln Park.
• The 100 block of West Division Street in the Gold Coast.
• The 2900 block of North Broadway in Lake View.

The suspect has been described as a Hispanic male between 22 and 40 years old. He reportedly stands at between 5 feet 5 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs between 160 and 210 pounds. He wears a dark hooded sweatshirt and in some cases a black knit cap, according to the report.
