City's 'Most Bizarre Race' Returns to Lincoln Park
A three-year break hasn't stopped Lincoln Park's Wacky Run. The circus-themed event is full-steam ahead this weekend, stepping off Sunday from the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.

After a three-year hiatus, a popular race will return this weekend to Lincoln Park's Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.
The museum will serve as the start and finish for participants in this year's Wacky Run, scheduled to step off on Sunday morning. The 5K/10K event is circus themed, coordinators have said, and prior to 2009's local run, it was held for 18 years in the city's West Loop.
"Participants at the run-walk can expect plenty of ringside thrills including clowns, jugglers, a contortionist, balloon artists and a few more surprises," representatives said, in a written statement.

The Notebaert Museum will also be the venue for an indoor post-run party. The run's start time is 10 a.m. at the museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive and the course will be along the neighborhood's lakefront.
There will not be an on-site registration for the 5 or 10K competitive timed runs, but those wanting to join the fun run-walk races will be able to do so. The fee for those 5K and 10K races will be $40 and $45, respectively.
