City's Sixth Intelligentsia Coffee Bar Landing Nearby
The sixth Intelligentsia location in Chicago is opening this summer just south of the Lincoln Park border in nearby Old Town. It will be adjacent to a new grocery store.

Chicago's sixth Intelligentsia coffee shop is landing soon in nearby Old Town, according to an announcement made this past week.
Representatives from Plum Market—an Old Town store opening this summer to sell natural, organic, local and specialty items—said the business will include an adjacent 1,200-square-foot coffee bar. Though it will be independently operated, Intelligentsia is scheduled to open on June 13 along with the market.

The new coffee shop’s contemporary design plays host to communal seating, a glass coffee bar and tall ceilings allowing for plenty of natural light. Architecture firm Gensler worked with the team at Intelligentsia to create a comfortable open space where people can enjoy coffee with minimal fuss, according to a news release.
"A custom colored La Marzocco Strada EP espresso machine takes center stage on the glass bar, with a small area for bar service," the release says. "Intelligentsia’s renowned portfolio of single origin coffees will be available by batch brew for those wanting great coffee in a hurry, but also by the cup, for those who enjoy the ritual of a more involved brew method. "
Plum Market will open at 1233 N. Wells St. in Old Town. The 27,000-square-foot space will feature an area showcasing "Plum Kitchen's" eat-in and carryout food creations.
