Comings & Goings: New Photo Biz Replaces Wolf; Maid-Rite Opens

Also in this week's Business Comings & Goings, Roy's Furniture offers discounts to customers visiting its temporary store and Naked Pizza holds a special event for those with dietary restrictions.

After nearly 100 years in business, Wolf Camera is no more. Locations across the country began liquidating merchandise in September, and Lincoln Park's store was no exception.

But those close-out efforts have now ceased, as a new photo company wasted no time taking its place in a storefront—it's almost directly below the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce—at 1919 N. Clybourn Ave. Brand new to the scene is ImageFlow. The California-based company specializes in all things photo and even provides one-one-one consultations with customers, staff said.

The business retained all Wolf Camera employees, noted photo lab technician Tara Kline.

"We were lucky enough to get purchased by a nice man from San Diego," she said. "He started a small company called ScanDiego, and obviously, now has ImageFlow."

After Wolf Camera went bankrupt, it was auctioned and bought by Hilco Merchant Resources and Gordon Brothers Group, Kline said.

A spokesperson for the joint venture told Business Wire, "We expect this will be an extremely short sale because of the outstanding merchandise selection, the great brands, and the significant price reductions. Consumers are encouraged to take advantage of these compelling values now while selection is best."

All merchandise that was left at the Clybourn location before ImageFlow began moving in was shipped to the Wolf Camera at Chicago and Rush, where liquidation continues.

Roy's Offers Discounts During Post-Fire Rebuild

As Roy's Furniture rebuilds its facility at 2455 N. Sheffield Ave., which burned down this past summer, owners are encouraging residents to venture to their warehouse for great deals and an even better merchandise selection.

The team at Roy's has set up a temporary showroom at 2315 W. 27th to continue sales of quality furniture for every room in the house. Better yet, anyone who mentions the "Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce" while making a purchase will save 10 percent.

Naked Pizza Hosts Gluten Free and Celiac Awareness Night

Naked Pizza, which opened this past summer at 953 W. Diversey Parkway, held a Gluten Free and Celiac Awareness night at the end of September.

The company, located, by chance, next to Lovers Lane, serves up healthier-for-you pizza and caters to a variety of dietary restrictions, including gluten intolerance. Owners said business has been steady so far. Keep your eyes peeled to Patch for an upcoming feature about the company.

Maid-Rite Opens on Lincoln

A burger joint made famous by its "loosemeats" sammie recently opened its doors right here in Lincoln Park.

Located near the corner of Lincoln and Fullerton—specifically, 2429 N. Lincoln Ave.—the Iowa-based restaurant serves up a sandwich that's similar to a sloppy joe. Sound messy? Don't worry, it comes with a spoon.
