If you're an area senior citizen, State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago) wants to hear from you.

She's asking local residents to attend a meeting of her Senior Citizens Advisory Committee on Jan. 11 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the 19th District Police Station located at 850 W. Addison.

Feigenholtz meets with members of the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee several times each year to gather feedback on legislative issues, generate ideas for new state legislation, and better understand the issues affecting the area’s aging community.

“Senior citizens in our community must have a voice in Springfield,” said Feigenholtz. “These meetings give me the opportunity to truly understand the challenges seniors are facing and the priorities that are most important to them at the state level, whether it is help in making prescription drugs more affordable or ensuring that their senior property tax exemption applications are simple and easy to understand.”

The new legislative session will begin on January 10th.
