Hawks' Carcillo Buys Lincoln Park Penthouse With Skyline Views

Chicago Blackhawks' left winger Dan Carcillo bought an eight-room penthouse in Lincoln Park this week, according to reports.

The lack of an NHL hockey season hasn't stopped left winger Dan Carcillo from settling in Chicago.

The Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday that the Hawk forked over $640,000 for a multi-level penthouse in a vintage Lincoln Park building. The 27-year-old signed on with the team in 2011 and is under contract until summer 2014.

"The eight-room, 2,500-square-foot unit that Carcillo bought has three bedrooms, a wood-burning fireplace, a sun room with skyline views, soaring ceilings, large windows, a media room, a gym, an office, a deck with 360-degree views, and a kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and 42-inch cabinets," the story says, noting that the unit was listed for $725,000.

Wednesday marked day 46 of the NHL lockout, which has been ongoing since the league's collective bargaining agreement expired prior to the season's start. It has so far cost the NHL 423 games—97 pre-season and 326 regular season, according to a CBS News report

League representatives recently announced the cancellation of all November games. Experts say they may decide today or Friday whether the Winter Classic—the annual New Year's Day face-off and highest grossing individual game of the season—will join the list of axed match-ups.
