Lincoln Park Community Services (LPCS) Hosts Annual Metamorphosis Gala
Organization will Celebrate the Journeys of the Homeless "Guests" They Serve

Homelessness is a temporary circumstance. It does not define a person. While homelessness may be something a person is going through, it is not who they are. According to the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services, 3,875 Chicagoans experienced homelessness in 2022 with 2,612 residing in homeless shelters. As a state,
Lincoln Park Community Services (LPCS) brings communities together to empower those facing homelessness by providing essential services and support. On Friday, May 19th from 6:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m., LPCS will host its annual spring gala & fundraiser Metamorphosis at Venue West (221 N Paulina) in Chicago.

The evening will feature cocktails, dinner and a live auction while celebrating the organization’s mission, journeys of LPCS guests, as they are called, and the generosity of volunteers and supporters. Members of the LPCS homeless community (referred to as “guests”) will be in attendance, having had a full makeover in preparation for the event by Salon Edda in Lincoln Park. This year LPCS will honor capital campaign supporters responsible for opening a second location in Old Town to serve those experiencing homelessness.
“Were it not for the vision and outright care of volunteers and supporters for those experiencing homelessness in this community, we would not have been able to open this magnificent facility that now serves as a hub for providing extensive services and support to those individuals who are experiencing or on the verge of homelessness,” explains Cheryl Hamilton-Hill, CEO of LPCS. “This year, we anticipate setting another record for the number of people served. The need is great in Chicago and LPCS will continue to do its part to help get people off of the streets and on the road to independence in their own homes.”
