Local Legislators Collaborate for Coffee, Conversation

Three local legislators are hosting a special community event this coming weekend on the North Side.

Over a cup of Joe, local representatives want your input.

State Representatives Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago), Ann Williams (D-Chicago), and Senate President John Cullerton (D-Chicago) are joining forces to host a public “Coffee and Conversation” session this coming Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Mystic Celt, 3433 N. Southport Ave. in nearby Lake View.

“This is an open invitation to a community dialogue with elected officials during a crucial year for Illinois,” Feigenholtz said, in a news release. “With so many tough decisions facing us, it’s important that our constituents have a platform to help shape the debate in Springfield.”

In Coffee and Conversation sessions, residents can discuss community and legislative issues with their elected officials in a small, informal setting. These sessions are open opportunities for local residents to voice their thoughts on the issues and legislation that are important to them.

“I look forward to joining Rep. Williams and Rep. Feigenholtz to speak to our constituents as we continue to gain feedback on the issues that are important to them," Cullerton said, according to the release. "I believe good government begins with listening and I look forward to continuing that dialogue with the people that I represent."
